Job Overview
The Site Supervisor is the primary on-site leader for all camp operations at their designated location. This role plays a central role in delivering engaging, inclusive, and age-appropriate programming for Camp Bonaventure participants. This leadership position oversees and supports staff, manages logistics, and maintains smooth daily operations to create a positive and memorable camp experience for all campers. This Site Supervisor reports to the Program Coordinator. 

Key Responsibilities Include: 
  • Team Leadership & Staff Support: Provide supervision and direction to all Camp Bonaventure personnel, provide feedback and conduct performance reviews, facilitate training on all the ins and outs of being a Camp Counsellor, and collaborate closely with the Program Coordinator to align site operations with organizational goals. This position serves as the primary on-site mentor and resource for staff, fostering a positive, professional and supportive team environment. 
  • Programming & Activity Coordination: Leads the development of appropriate and inclusive programming, coordinate off-site bookings and transportation, create and communicate weekly schedules for families/caregivers, and plan backup locations for inclement weather.
  • Camper Support & Safety: Oversee participant safety, inclusion and engagement in all activities. Ensure appropriate ratios across groups and provide group support as needed. The Site Supervisor also ensures that programming is adapted so all campers can fully participate. 
  • Operations & Resource Management: Manage site operations by maintaining program supplies within budget, ensuring materials are stocked and organized, and updating programming manuals and off-site guides. Oversee the timely submission of group program plans and support consistent, high-quality program delivery throughout the camp season. Maintain clear communication with the Program Coordinator to support camp operations throughout the season.

  • Easeful - You strive to create accessible and inclusive spaces that remove barriers to access. You have experience adapting activities, programming, to meet the needs of everyone. Previous experience developing and implementing programming is required. Access to your own vehicle during working hours.
  • Safe - You value creating and maintaining safe spaces to promote inclusion and fun! Must be over the age of 18. Must pass a Screening Process including a Backcheck search and an Intervention Record Check completed by Alberta Human Services. Must be able to provide proof of current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification, prior to the start date.

Overview of Working Hours:
  • Hours: This role is expected to work a minimum of 40 hours a week with the possibility of some overtime hours. This role requires flexibility in terms of working hours to effectively support staff and program members. 
  • Regular Schedule: Camp Senior Team will work an additional week as needed after Camp to work on wrap-up administration, ending August 28, 2026
  • Mandatory Training: 
  • Camp Senior Team training begins May 4, 2026
  • Camp Wide Training occurs 
  • Camp Dates: Camp Bonaventure runs from June 29, 2026 - August 22, 2026(excluding Statutory Holidays).

Working Location: 
  • April-June: This role will work remotely with some days at the Between Friends office, as needed. 
  • June-August: This role will work in-person at the assigned Camp Bonaventure site for all contracted hours.

Job Requirements:
  • Must be between the ages of 18 to 30 (due to funding requirements).
  • Must pass a Screening Process including a Backcheck search and an Intervention Record Check completed by the Government of Alberta.
  • Must be able to provide proof of current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification, prior to the start date.
  • Must be a Permanent Resident or Citizen of Canada (due to funding requirements)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
  • Current enrollment or completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Special Education, Public Health, Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology, or related field is considered an asset. 
  • Able to adapt to changing circumstances, participant needs, and organizational goals. Flexibility is especially important in non-profit work, where priorities and resources may shift.
  • Ability to provide support to participants requiring lifts and transfers, and personal care support.
  • Experience in a supervisory role and/or summer camp work is an asset.
  • Previous experience working with people with disabilities is an asset.
  • Previous experience developing and implementing programming is an asset.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Passion for the mission of supporting persons with disabilities.

Compensation

$20.00 - $22.50 per hour
